<26>We show how to animate complex, hand-drawn pictures in a variety of styles such as pastel, airbrush, ink-wash and scraperboard, giving a highly-stylised look without the support of 3D models. The resulting movie behaves as though animated by drawing. This permits artists to use their skills directly, even with complex drawing styles. This work underpins Van Reeth's commercial enterprise Ultra Pictura (http://www.ultrapictura.be/) (Frank Van Reeth +32-11-268402), who have produced a pilot episode of a children's animation (Winnie the Witch) and are producing a full series for Flemish TV, with interest from a UK TV channel
