Additional information

The paper presents a natural language design environment, enabling the programming of complex robotic systems and implementing a form of natural language programming called sEnglish. It attracted interest from Thales UK (Paul.Gosling@uk.thalesgroup.com) who now use this methodology to control autonomous surface vehicles (ASV), from Nuclear National Labs (contact available on request) and Sellafield (contact available on request) to control reconfigurable autonomous systems for nuclear waste disposal robots. The potential of the methodology developed in this paper was also highlighted in an ESA news feature (http://www.esa.int/esatv/Videos/2011/05/ESA_Euronews_The_Space_Truck [start at 06:20]) and contributed to winning an EPSRC grant (EP/J011894/2).
