Additional information

These results formed the foundation for several of the multi-disciplinary applications in EPSRC Platform Grant EP/H00453X/1 £1.2m, including modelling the visual system of Drosophila, and modelling space weather. Nonlinear oscillators are important in many fields. This paper derived the first results to determine the boundary between weakly nonlinear and severely nonlinear systems based on a new frequency domain stability result. These results form the foundation for the study of severely nonlinear systems and sub harmonic oscillation and have led to the development of the first class of algorithms to analyse sub-harmonic systems in both the time and the frequency domain.
