Additional information

<22> The technique of using posted-offer markets for resource allocation in decentralised computational systems, first proposed in this paper, has subsequently been applied to the management of service level agreements in cloud federations [Faniyi2012, Lewis2013MAC]. The core idea led to a patent application (number WO/2010/026391, filed by BT in September 2008). The work led to the authors being awarded runner-up in the BT Gordon Radley Award for Best Author of Innovation, 2010, and formed the basis for a core part of a subsequent FP7 IP (grant agreement 257906), attracting a total EU contribution of €4.9M.
