<23> There is a growing need for accurate high-resolution 3d models in fields such as cultural heritage preservation, manufacturing, computer games and film industries. This paper solves the problem for a specific class of objects (shiny/texture-less) for which no efficient solution existed previously. This research led Toshiba Research (the owner of the IP) to kick-start a 3d photocopier project which is in development.
