Politics and the Internet in Comparative Context: Views from the cloud

The decision to submit the entire collection stems from Mercea’s contribution to the editorial process as well as the book’s substantive content. Editorially, Mercea was instrumental in determining the book’s analytical scope and theoretical grounding and played an equal part in editing the volume prior to publication. He led on two substantive chapters. The first chapter is a critical overview of a decade of scholarship on the virtual public sphere in communication studies journals. The second draws from original primary data to analyse social media recruitment within Occupy the Netherlands.
