Additional information

One of the outcomes of the EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship held by Jaworski (2004-2009) that enabled further international collaborations under European Commission funded THATEA consortium. The particular achievement here is a pioneering application of acetone-based PLIF technique for phase-locked measurements of unsteady temperature fields in oscillatory flows that opened new possibilities for deriving local/global and/or phase-dependent/cycle-averaged heat fluxes on the surface of the heat exchanger fins. The impact is on other researchers, particularly those dealing with CFD problems under THATEA consortium (NRG Netherlands, University of Messina). Other publications from this work were in Meas.Sci.Technol. 21(11)115405, Appl.Therm.Eng. 42(2012) and Exp.Tech. 35(2)2011.
