Additional information

This reports on determining the optimal hydrophobic agent content in the cathode gas diffusion layer (GDL), both with or without a microporous layer coating on the GDL surface. The outcome, combined with other papers published by the author, has resulted in a major breakthrough in the area of fuel cells, namely on the ultra-thin metallic plates which induce a dramatic improvement in the performance of the fuel cell. This has attracted significant investment from the NetScientific Group which commercializes industry-driven research. This research has manifested itself through two patents (application numbers 1121394.9 -1220825.2) and formation of the Watermass Spinoff Company.
