Additional information

<22>This paper presents a novel approach to systems that are able to represent the things they don't know and plan actions to close these knowledge gaps. This is the first integrated systems approach (rather than a single algorithm) to this problem, and therefore the first design which can be used to build complete robot systems. This is important because gaps in knowledge make robot performance brittle in real-world situations. This work formed the core of the contributions by the EU IP CogX, and led to invited talks at the AAAI Spring Symposium on Designing Intelligent Robots and universities including CMU.
