Efficient data representation for XML in peer-based systems
<17>Smartphones have become ubiquitous and this paper solves the important problem of distributing large data structures to such devices.
Rather than building on existing models, the paper is the first to propose a range of models for partitioning large data structures so that they can be efficiently distributed to smartphones. This range of models provides an effective means of optimising battery power and consequently presents a new conceptual basis for supporting expansion of the commercial opportunities offered by smartphone technology in the context
of distributing information to users. This paper was selected for development into journal paper by MOMM09.
