Additional information

This paper presented a new method for minimising power loss in a distribution system by choosing an electricity price signal to guide the demand side management in an electricity market. A fuzzy adaptive particle swarm method is presented for two layer optimisations: load optimal response to electricity prices (inner layer) and power loss minimisation with optimal electricity prices (outer layer). Around 12% power loss reduction is achieved in a case study. It shows that the proposed approach can make the electricity market more efficient and benefit both consumers and distribution companies.
