<22> This paper, published in the leading journal of the Cognitive Science Society, presents a novel method for extracting natural feature-based descriptions of everyday concepts from unrestricted text which has been harvested from the web. It has been influential in the field, as the first model to automatically provide rich property descriptions of the kinds that psychologists have long posited. The resultant model matched the performance of less expressive models on a range of cognitive modelling tasks. It is cited by leading groups in cognitive and computational semantics, including Cambridge, Colorado (Boulder), Edinburgh, and Texas (Austin).
