Growth of CdS layers to develop all-electrodeposited CdS/CdTe thin-film solar cells
This comprehensive paper on electro-plating of CdS and full characterisation will have a significant impact on development of both CdTe and CuInGaSe2 based thin-film solar panels. All-electrodeposited CdS/CdTe solar cells will reduce production costs by replacing expensive vacuum processes with a single low-cost growth technique. This work observed growth of natural nano-rods of CdS on conducting substrates. These nano-rods naturally grow normal to the substrate, and are uni-directional and compact - they could be of use in a number of nano-technology applications. This work attracted a Commonwealth Scholar and funding from the Governments of Malaysia, Nigeria and Kudistan.
