High-gain observer-based estimation of parameter variations with delay alignment
The paper, a collaboration between University of Manchester, Northumbria University, Southwest University (China) presents new important theoretical developments addressing implementation of high gain based techniques in areas of Control Engineering, Data Processing, etc. These are shown to be very effective in various applications but often face the problem of computational instability during implementation, when very high gain has to be used. Reducing the gain reduces the efficiency of the approach; a new technique is developed to overcome this problem by accounting the estimation delay in high gain observers. This permits a reduction in the observer gain without loss of performance.
