Additional information

A model is proposed that predicts the mechanical behaviour of paperboard during two manufacturing processes. In contrast to competitor models, this model only uses a few parameters. It is therefore straightforward to implement and calibrate by commercial users, whilst it is as accurate as competitor models. This work led to an invitation to present the work at the 2nd SimPaper Workshop (organised by Prof. Perego, Umberto.Perego@polimi.it). At least one Dutch paperboard company Sappi Ltd (Riet van de Steeg, riet.vandesteeg@sappi.com) uses the model.
