Additional information

This is the first published mathematical formulation and solution of the full coupling of a wellbore with distributed passive control in a homogeneous reservoir model. The verified asymptotic solution was verified against numerical simulation and applied to published field cases. The work was part of an internationally funded research project (http://www.pet.hw.ac.uk/research/iwfst/, £1.5M) and the developed formulae were coded to provide practical well design recommendations and distributed among the 10 participating international oil companies. The formulae and workflows were also used by other researchers in the wellbore flow modelling studies (China DOI:10.4028/www.scientific.net/AMM.275-277.491).
