Additional information

This output is based is the result of industrial and EPSRC funded (CASE Award) projects which resulted in the publication of a PhD thesis. The work has significantly impacted on the understanding of the brake judder phenomenon and was the first to show the dynamic nature of brake disc deformation, which is a result of both thermo-elastic and thermo-plastic effects, and its impact on brake judder. It was also the first to show that in-service stress relieving could occur on a brake disc.
