Additional information

Whole crude oil hydrotreating is a new technology that has not been reported by anyone else except us. This output is one of four papers submitted to REF2014 by Wood (and Mujtaba) and is linked to Wood2 through the improved kinetic model developed therein. It is expected that significant economic benefit will result from the changes in flow and fouling (in heat exchangers) characteristics of the new RCR fuel (due to different thermo-physical properties). At recent PARTC (Cape Town) and MEPEC (Bahrain) conferences, the work attracted the attention of a number of industries (Invensys, Johnson Matthey, DuPont, Sasol, Haldor-Topsoe).
