Additional information

Whole crude oil hydrotreating is a new technology that has not been reported by anyone else except us. This output is one of four papers on the topic submitted to REF2014 by Wood (and Mujtaba). This paper develops kinetic models for hydrodeasphaltanisation using kinetic parameters previously non-existent in the literature until the work of Mujtaba3. An accurate kinetic model is essential for model-based activity such as scale up, economic feasibility calculations, and so on. At recent PARTC (Cape Town) and MEPEC (Bahrain) conferences, the work attracted the attention of a number of industries (Invensys, Johnson Matthey, DuPont, Sasol, Haldor Topsoe).
