Additional information

Presented is a new scheme called “Collaborative Spreading” for the downlink of code-division multiple access mobile communications to allow sharing of the same spreading sequence by more than one user. It addresses the problem of overloading and maintains the use of the same sequences and simple receiver structure. It was inspired by the idea of collaborative coding previously investigated to increase user capacity, and achieve a total sum-rate higher than unity. It has direct impact in cellular systems, interference limited environments, and small cell networks. Contact: Dr I. Shakya, NSSLGlobal ltd, Tel: 01737 648800, Email: Indu.Shakya@NSSLGlobal.com.
