Additional information

Presented are important analytical results on robust control of a class of uncertain nonlinear systems, satisfying conditions of disturbances/uncertainties that affect the system via channels other than the control input. The method extends, significantly, the usability of Disturbance Observer-Based Control (DOBC) methods via a novel disturbance compensation gain design. A realistic magnetic levitation suspension system is also addressed, illustrating the efficacy of the proposed work as a promising alternative design tool for nonlinear systems to the practising control engineer. The proposed work started receiving attention in autopilot and vehicle applications. Contact: Professor Shihua Li, Southeast University, PR China, Email: lsh@seu.edu.cn.
