Additional information

The new phenomenon of the significant reduction (up to factor of three) of the forced response levels of bladed discs by blade mistuning (even for the small mistuning due to manufacturing tolerances) is revealed and explained. The paper corrects the common opinion existing in the industry and research community that bladed disc mistuning has only adverse effects. The new phenomenon has significant practical implications for the design and assessment of acceptability of the forced response levels for mistuned bladed discs.
