This paper resulted from a close industrial collaboration with two companies (MEL Chemicals and UOP). It provided a very fundamental look at a carbon sequestration material of significant interest. MEL Chemicals have used results of this study to formulate new commercial products MELSORB1596/1597 (http://www.zrchem.com/products/melsorb_lithium_zirconates.asp). This study also led to a new industrially co-sponsored project (Case with MEL Chemicals, industrial supervisor Dr Emiliana Dvininov, contact available on request).
