Characterizing femtosecond laser inscribed Bragg grating spectra
This paper reports a new design tool for inscribing nano/micro photonics structures, developed under the collaboration between Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies and the Cyprus University of Technology. The joint work set the base for further collaboration under two FP7 Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship projects (MIDFIL: €200.4k, 2012-2014 and SOFST: €231.3k, 2013-2015). Subsequent work has resulted in two more papers published in peer-reviewed journals (DOI: 10.1109/JLT.2011.2175702; DOI: 10.1109/RADECS.2011.6131460) and seven presentations at international conferences. The design principle and developed tool will facilitate new lasers and sensors in novel fibres covering wavelengths from visible to mid-IR.
