<17> Significance: Published in ACM MM, the best and most competitive conference in multimedia. Originality: Provides a new representation of interactions with a video retrieval system that provides ranking and recommendations on the basis of normal interactions with a video player. Contribution: Retrieval models developed for web search were extended to be applied the multimedia domain. These utilise the implicit actions inherent in using a video browser meaning that user behaviour is not altered. This is important as making judgements for video retrieval can be expensive in terms of user effort.
