<20> Published at ACM CHI, the best and most competitive conference in HCI. The work, part of an extensive multi-disciplinary £1.5 million cross-research council grant (MRC, EPSRC, ESRC), examined the use of assistive technology for rehabilitation in the lab and the home. Presented the first use of Participatory Design that fully involved seniors, who were undergoing rehabilitation, for computer games based physical rehabilitation systems. Outcomes included a successful game which had been designed by seniors, and detailed guidance on how to structure a design workshop in order that seniors would actively engage in the design of their own rehabilitation tools.
