Additional information

<24> This paper, presented at the highly selective HRI conference (acceptance rate 21%), described for the first time a novel way of implementing robotic faces. This led to collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University Qatar (Sakr). The research was replicated at KTH Stockholm and TU Munchen, and led to the Face-to-Face Communication Workshop at IEEE ARSO 2012 and to a special issue of the International Journal of Humanoid Robotics. The technique was adopted by Engineered Arts Ltd (UK) for the commercial Socibot robot, used in the US for HRI studies. Delaunay set-up a spin-off company, Syntheligence (France) to commercialise the technique.
