Additional information
<21> This paper is the de-facto reference for cloudlet based computing - an important architectural technique and vibrant area of research targeted at supporting mobile and pervasive computing. The key idea is to provide VM-based cloud computing facilities physically close to mobile users to tackle the twin problems of resource limited mobile devices and high-latency remote cloud services. Already highly cited, the paper continues to grow in relevance as it provides examples of how cloudlets can be used with wearable devices such as those now typified by Google Glass.
