Numerical implementation of EPR-based material models in finite element analysis
Constitutive models are relationships between two or more physical quantities representing different aspects of behaviour of a material or system, and predict the response of the material/system to applied loads, displacements, etc. Developing constitutive models with the capability of being easily implemented into numerical analysis techniques e.g. finite element method is a vital requirement of addressing complicated analysis and design problems in different engineering fields. In this research work, robust, accurate and carefully verified constitutive models were developed and successfully implemented into the finite element method illustrating the potential of the proposed approach in analysing boundary value problems in engineering.
