The Complete Works of Gerrard Winstanley

The Complete Works of Gerrard Winstanley was edited by Hughes and two literary scholars. Hughes was responsible for the first three sections of the introduction (vol. I, pp 1-50); for editing and annotating the manuscript material and the ‘writings … in other publications’, and for the biographical appendix (vol. II, pp 405-56). Corns undertook the textual editing of the main texts, and provided biblical annotations. Hughes was responsible for the additional annotations to all the works in vol. II except for Fire in the Bush and contributed some contextual and historical annotations to the tracts in vol. I.
