SDS surfactants on carbon nanotubes: aggregate morphology.
This work was supported by the US Department of Energy (award # FG02-06ER64239). This was the first of a series of manuscripts published by Striolo on the morphology of surfactant aggregates adsorbed on carbon nanotubes. Two follow up manuscripts were highlighted on journal covers (Journal of Physical Chemistry C, in 2011, and Soft Matter, in 2013). The 2009 manuscript settled the literature argument on whether surfactant aggregates on nanotubes were ordered or disordered. Many continued our work to determine the surfactant features needed for stabilizing aqueous carbon nanotubes dispersions (see, e.g., the subsequent publications of Prof. Blankschtein, from MIT).
