Additional information

This paper was published in the leading journal for fundamental combustion studies and it introduces a novel technique for removing the effects of ignition delay on diesel fuel combustion. The paper elucidates little known influences on combustion of biofuels which were previously masked by ignition delay effects. The project is part of a 10-year strategic collaboration with BP Fuels Technology and it was wholly funded by BP (Dr Robert Allan, robert.allan@uk.bp.com). It has led to a patent (EP20070254964-20071219) being filed by BP based on the IPR generated during this project.
