Additional information

The behaviour of grid-connected wind turbine generators during grid faults is of major concern to the transmission system operators. The paper provides a rigorous theoretical model of generator and converter behaviour under faulted conditions, and has been used by Industry in subsequent fault-ride-through studies. The research was carried out in collaboration with Econnect ltd. The work was supported by a £139K EPSRC grant (EP/F061714) and direct industrial funding from Econnect Ltd (now Senergy-Econnect, G.Nicholson Tel +441912387300).
