Additional information

The strong commercial interest in this model arises from industry’s need for robust material models for concrete and other quasi-brittle materials. The new approach treats all micro-cracking and micro-contacts, whether from crushing or cracking, in a unified manner giving accurate solutions from a compact algorithm. This is in sharp contrast to nearly all competitor models. The work was instrumental in securing a KTP contract with the software company LUSAS (KTP8380, Paul.Lyons@lusas.com).
