For this group exhibition of limited edition multiples, Lesley Punton exhibited the first two (Marlow & Kurtz) in a series of postcard works entitled “the Lightship series” 2009/10. These were digitally re-named lightships using the names of characters from Heart of Darkness, The Magic Mountain, and Robinson Crusoe where each character makes a physical, metaphorical or metaphysical journey. The cards were shown on an oak shelf. Lesley Punton is represented by R O O M in the UK & Europe Lesley Punton’s work in this exhibition was reviewed in Art Monthly, May 2009, Issue No 326, Review of "Collaborators" by Larne Abse Gogarty,(ISSN 0142 6702) "The Lightship Series" was shown in a two person exhibition (with Judy Spark), "Back to the Things Themselves", for Gi (Glasgow International) Festival of Visual Arts in April/May 2012 at The Briggait, Glasgow. The artists were interviewed by Magdalena Chau for the Daily Serving. (see URL above) in relation to this exhibition. A monograph on Punton's practice is currently in production to be published by ROOM, London, which includes this work, with text contributions from Dr. David Watson of Sydney, Australia and the poet Thomas A Clark, due for publication in September 2013.
