Appraisal and reporting of security assurance at operational systems level

<19>The novelty and contribution of this paper lies in the provision of the metrics and a methodology that could help improve the Security Assurance information required for the understanding of the security situation from a security practitioner perspective, taking into account the quality of the security verification process and the correctness status of the security mechanism. The work resulted in a PhD thesis, and it was validated by a panel of industrial experts from Luxembourg. An extension of this work to the area of cloud services has been awarded funding by the Luxembourgish national research fund of Luxembourg.
