Research content/process:

The output was the first extensively theorised and annotated anthology on the development of contemporary art within globalised conditions. Harris selected, commissioned and edited 33 original essays by authors given specific briefs related to the concerns of the book’s seven sections. Harris contributed a 10,000 word Introduction to the anthology – offering a theory of globalisation – and seven section introductions (c25, 000 words in total). Harris fully theorised, ordered and provided synopses for the 33 essays commissioned for each of the seven sections on the themes of Institutions, Producers, Identifications, Means of Production, Forms, Reproduction and Organisation.
