Additional information

Freeform non-Euclidean surfaces are rapidly emerging in many different applications. Currently, most measurement and filtering techniques are designed to handle Euclidean surfaces. Therefore, designing new tools and algorithms capable of accurately process new non-Euclidean surfaces is critical. This paper is built on EPSRC, GR/S13316/01project and is funded by ERC-AdG117228 investigates a new filtering methods using the lifting wavelet transform. The paper is expected to have a large impact on many applications such as metrology for aero-foil surfaces and manufacture of large optics where process metrology is critical.
