Double-weighted statement
This 205 page book examines new directions in the American and English geography curriculum over recent decades. It draws on six years of the author’s own research on the English geography curriculum and about how changing notions of citizenship are reflected in curricular documentation, including content analysis of high school world geography textbooks from 1950 to 2006. Set in the context of the evolution of geography and the geography curriculum, the book explores a shift from a national, public context for geography to global, personal narratives for the subject.
