Additional information

This paper marks a significant step in the development of 3D phase unwrapping techniques. It shows that region growing, guided by a Minimum Spanning Tree and quality map, is not only possible in 3D, something that had not previously been achieved, but that it was both more efficient and robust than previous methods. This algorithm has been extensively employed in fields as diverse as: high definition MRI for brain structure, SAR imaging and satellite geo-surveying. It is one of a small suite of algorithms available for download from our website and is very widely employed. See case study 0065_15_01.
