Additional information

The papers demonstrated the applicability of the concept of light stimulated release for intracellular operations. Oligopeptide was delivered to cells inside capsules and produced no effect unless its release was stimulated by laser shot. Release of oligopeptides caused intracellular reaction resulted on antigen presentation on cell membrane. This was for first time the proof of light stimulating while the substances is already in the cells and separation of uptake and intracellular trafficking. The paper was highlighted in MIT Technology news and TV media (France 24).
