The initial research work in this paper was first presented at the International Water Association (IWA) Specialist Conference on Nutrient Management in Wastewater Treatment Processes and Recycle Streams, held in Krakow, Poland. Since that time, this research work was extended and enhanced under an Innovation Fellowship Programme Grant of £14,986 from EMDA (East Midlands Development Agency) received in 2009 for a project entitled “Commercialisation of a membrane bioreactor wastewater treatment modeling software package” with EMDA Project No. HIRF 339.
