Additional information

This paper reports on the application of our Dynamic Content Adaptation Framework (DCAF) in an area with similar requirements to semantic content modelling, namely, bandwidth allocation. Like with content modelling, the allocation of a shared resource, like bandwidth, is determined by usage optimisation and the requirements of the user and their usage environment. We adapt the DCAF framework to model the bandwidth sharing problem as a poker game in which players consume the bandwidth of a video streaming server. The model implements a content-based resource allocation selection mechanism using MPEG-7 and MPEG-21 with which resource allocation is optimized during play.
