Additional information

There has been increasing interest in using technology to ameliorate the lives of people with dementia and their carers. This timely paper explores the barriers to technology uptake in the community. An important discovery was made – that there was a complete lack of awareness of ATD in the various focus groups and questionnaire respondents used, which will lead to new initiatives to address this.
