J.W. Waterhouse: the modern Pre-Raphaelite
Prettejohn co-curated the exhibition for the Groninger Museum, Groningen, The Netherlands, the Royal Academy of Arts, London, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, 2008-10. Together with co-curators Peter Trippi and Robert Upstone, she initiated the exhibition concept and wrote the original proposal; negotiated contracts with the three exhibition venues; identified, located, and negotiated the 100 loans for the exhibition; and collaborated on the display and marketing of the exhibition with the curatorial teams in all three venues. Prettejohn took primary responsibility for selecting and researching the works with classical subject-matter and the artist's sketchbooks. She was also co-editor of the catalogue, author of one essay (pp. 23-35), and author of 48 (of 100) catalogue entries (nos 2-14, 18-19, 21-27, 32, 34, 41-45, 47-50, 56-58, 62, 64-67, 92-98), amounting to approximately 22,000 words in total.
