One of the most challenging processes in the Aerospace industry is using electro discharge technology to machine and process alloy and hard materials for key manufacturing components, such as film cooling holes for Turbine Blades, engine strip sheets etc. This research has developed a new servo feed drive for electro-discharge-machining industrial applications that overcomes the current teething issues of electric motor servo control technology and has transferred electro-discharge technology into a new era, where the system level of precision, machining stability, dynamic time response and product surface profiles have significantly improved.
