Carried object detection in videos using color information

<23> The fundamental research on baggage detection presented in this paper originated during an EPSRC/TSB funded R&D project (No: TP/5/DAT/6/I/H07927L). Subsequently a practical implementation was incorporated within a commercial video forensic tool developed within a KTP project (KTP 8722, £ 121K) that was commercially launched at the IFSEC 2012 Exhibition by Visimetrics Ltd. (now Digital Barriers), as FiND (http://www.securitynewsdesk.com/2011/04/21/visimetrics-­1m-­rd-­project­find%E2%84%A2-­to-­be-­launched-­at­ifsec-­2011/). With the video forensic tool the proposed work specifically handles the detection of people carrying bags. An initial version of the work presented in this paper was presented at the 11th Int. Conf. on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications 2011.
