Additional information

The author contributed to the conception, planning and design of the experiment. He was involved in the analysis of the results and made several contributions to the final manuscript. This paper is a continuation of the work that the author initiated at Imperial and involves the first investigations of ultrahigh intensity laser with ultrathin foils. The author was involved in the PhD supervision of the lead author. The work was performed at a national facility in the US, so the authorship contains several of the facility staff, but the experiment was conceived and completed primarily by the Imperial College team.
