Additional information

The article applies the new, Life Cycle Assessment-related method of tourism carbon impact appraisal, to different holidaying options / scenarios from the UK to Southern France. It outlines the most and least carbon-friendly holidaying patterns and demonstrates the importance of the indirect GHG emissions in the total carbon footprint of the scenarios reviewed. The article develops a number of recommendations for tourism and environmental policy-makers which aim to reduce the carbon significance of holidays in France, a popular tourism destination for UK residents in Europe.
