Additional information

This paper results in a comprehensive dual-scale model, including mass exchange, micro-diffusion and capillary effects. The last of these employs models originally developed for soil physics applications. The work is a further refinement and improvement of that presented in the first publication above, and illustrates how the relative importance of the various flow mechanisms is dependent on processing parameters (flow rates, pressure, viscosity, etc.).
